The ceramic berl saddle are overlapped with each other in the tower, forming an arc airway with interlocking structure, which is conducive to the uniform distribution of gas-liquid flow and the reduction of resistance. Compared with ceramic raschig ring, berl saddle has better performance, but it is easy to overlap, and it is easy to cause channel flow and high flooding point at the overlap.
The berl saddle is completely open, both inside and outside, and the fluid is equally distributed on both surfaces. Another characteristic of berl saddle is that when stacked in the tower, the pressure on the side of the tower wall is smaller than that of ring packing.
However, because the surface configuration on both sides is the same, the stacking filler is easy to overlap, thus reducing the exposed surface.
