13X molecular sieve (NaX type) can be used to adsorb benzene, but its effect and application conditions need to be evaluated according to specific scenarios. The following is the analysis of key points:


1. The characteristics of 13X molecular sieve

Pore size: The pore size of 13X is approximately 10 A (1 Angstorms), which is larger than the molecular dynamic diameter of benzene (about 5.8 A), theoretically allowing benzene molecules to enter the pores and be adsorbed.


Surface properties: It has strong polarity and a high specific surface area. Its adsorption capacity for benzene (a non-polar molecule) is weaker than that for polar molecules (such as water, ammonia, etc.), but it may still be effective under non-competitive adsorption conditions.


2. Considerations in practical application

Competitive adsorption: If the gas contains polar molecules such as water and alcohol, 13X will preferentially adsorb these substances, reducing the adsorption efficiency for benzene.


Concentration and temperature: The adsorption effect of low-concentration benzene is better under normal temperature conditions. High temperature or high flow rate may reduce the adsorption capacity.


Regeneration capacity: 13X can desorb benzene by heating (such as 200~300℃), but its performance may decline after multiple regenerations.
