In the factory's air compression system, most factories have extremely high requirements for the quality of compressed air. The general pressure dew point is -70℃ or -40℃. Therefore, drying equipment - adsorption dryers are almost always used. The drying agents commonly employed are mainly two types: activated alumina and molecular sieves. The common ones are in the form of spherical particles.
Activated alumina and molecular sieves, as two commonly used adsorbents, both have strong adsorption capabilities for moisture. Moreover, activated alumina also possesses many excellent physical and chemical properties. Therefore, in most cases, activated alumina remains the preferred choice for the adsorption drying towers in the air compression system.
The main properties of molecular sieves and activated alumina are quite similar. The only difference is that the regeneration temperature of alumina is 75°C lower than that of molecular sieves. This is a very advantageous point for a compression hot dryer whose regeneration temperature cannot be very high.
If you don't know how to make a choice, we can provide you with specific solutions.

CHEMXIN has engaged in Molecular Sieve since 2002, over 24 years of experience in manufacturer, development and installation guidance. Let’s share more cases and study together.
