CHEMXIN 3A molecular sieve is a widely used desiccant and industrial adsorption material, known for its excellent adsorption of water and other gases. It is commonly applied in the drying of natural gas, methane, and polar liquids. Specific applications include:
Drying petroleum cracking gases such as ethylene, acetylene, propylene, and butadiene;
Drying polar liquids such as methanol and ethanol;
Drying air;
Drying natural gas and methane.
Due to its strong hygroscopic properties, 3A molecular sieve requires careful humidity control during storage and use.
Storage Requirements
Low-humidity Environment: Store in a space with relative humidity below 90% to prevent moisture uptake and degradation of the product;
Waterproof and Ventilated Location: Select a dry, well-ventilated storage area to prevent moisture ingress;
Sealed Packaging: Ensure the product is properly sealed before storage to maintain activity;
Avoid Contamination by Organics: Keep molecular sieve away from oils and liquid water. Oils can block the pores, and during regeneration, may carbonize, affecting adsorption performance. For gas streams containing oil, remove oil and water prior to molecular sieve treatment;
Long-term Storage: Molecular sieve stored for extended periods should be regenerated before use to restore adsorption capacity.
Regeneration and Operational Precautions:
Molecular sieve release heat when adsorbing moisture; avoid direct contact with liquid water to prevent hazards or damage;
When pressurizing or depressurizing molecular sieve tower during regeneration, adjust the pressure gradually to avoid crushing particles into powder;
Recommended regeneration temperature: 200–350°C. Higher temperatures increase energy consumption and may shorten molecular sieve lifespan;
Maximum regeneration temperature should not exceed 600°C to prevent loss of activity.
